Tom White: Aye or Nay on Nancy Pelosi's New Health Care Mega-Bureaucracy?

The Joint Economic Committee House Republican staff, which earlier this year created a chart mapping the bureaucratic complexity of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s original health care proposal (H.R. 3200), has prepared a new chart showing the health care bureaucracy created by the new version of the Speaker’s bill (H.R. 3962) approved by the Democrat Congress last Saturday night.

House Republican Leader John Boehner rightly calls it "the blueprint for a taxpayer-funded mega-bureaucracy."

Democrat congressional candidate Tom White still arrogantly refuses to say how he would have voted on H.R. 3962.

Is Tom White scared to let his partisan liberal supporters know that he would have voted the same way Congressman Lee Terry did? Or is Tom White scared to let Nebraskans know that he would have been just another vote for Nancy Pelosi's taxpayer-funded mega-bureaucracy?

If Tom White can't or won't answer this very timely and relevant question, why should Nebraskans consider him to be a serious candidate?

  1. Not sure if its arrogance or fear...maybe a little of both. Rasmussen Reports say that only 45% support health care reform and only 25% support the actual bill in Congress. The majority of voters don't want this bill. If he says he supports it, his campaign will be dead in the water... If he says he won't support it... then we are most likely to catch him lying. I think he'll probably just try to appease both sides of voters. Oh he's afraid....and he's arrogant enough to think that he can get away with not taking a side...

  2. Why doesn't Tom White start answering some of these questions? Does he not know that a congressman is elected to represent citizens and those citizens need to know how he would vote on something as crucial as HR 3962? I think he's scared to answer in fear of ticking off either his liberal base if he says he would vote "no" or the rest of the electorate if he says he would vote "yes". Keep holding his feet to the fire Mr. Fahleson.

  4. That is a great chart, except for its clarity (it is likely more organized than things would actually turn out). I think it would be great to see a corresponding graphic that details the Ponzi scheme needed to "pay" for this beast. Maybe that is what is keeping Tom White so quiet. . . he is working out the details for telling his kids about the debt they are about to incur.
