Sen. Nelson:You are complicit in this health care vote. You had a chance to kill it. Instead, you cut a sleazy backroom deal that gave America the Cornhusker Kickback, a moniker that will go down in American political history right alongside Watergate and the Teapot Dome Scandal. Stick a fork in your political career, it's done.
Tom White, your decision to support the initial House version of the health care legislation (including the "public option") and the Senate version dooms your infant candidacy. You would be well advised to refocus on your career as a plaintiff's trial lawyer and revisit your candidacy in 2012. Keep running and you make Jim Esch look like a quality candidate.

ReplyDeleteStill with the "Cornhusker Kickback?" In case you didn't hear, that is old news. It didn't make it into the final bill. Don't you pay attention? God knows my differences with Sen. Nelson throughout all of this have been more than acerbic, but your still hammering nails into the coffin of something that's been dead for some time! Give it a rest!
And now we hear that Washington Ben Nelson intends to vote NO on the reconciliation package when his vote no longer matters (they only need 51); that packages removes his Cornhusker Kickback.
